A tip for international students of how to clean your room!

In the end of the first week, you will find out that your desk and other furniture in your room are getting dusty. I hope you were not crazy enough to put the cleaning cloth in your baggage and you didn’t bring it with you overseas. If so, don’t hurry to buy cleaning stuff to get rid of the dust. Instead, use your socks to clean your desk! It will save you money and the effect will be the same. You are welcome ;)

Additional requirement to books for our program is a laptop. Today, they ask you to purchase a laptop with the following characteristics: I7 Processor with at least 8GB RAM.

I decided to buy it in Canada rather than take it from home. Reasons for this decision were price and warranty options.

And here comes a tip for those who starts studying in the Winter term: Wait for the boxing day sales! It usually starts on 24th of December, but it depends on the store. So, after a long research and useful advices from my Tumblr friend eirĂkur, I purchased a discounted laptop from Lenovo online store.

It should be delivered to me before my classes start.

Second tip for those who decide to purchase a Laptop in Canada: Remember, that you also pay taxes. And it is 13% of the total amount. For example, if you buy a laptop for 700$, you pay 91$ tax.

If you wonder how much the books for the first term will cost you, you can see on the screenshot above. This is for 4 books + Calculator that costs 50$! I couldn’t imagine a calculator can cost so much in 2014. Maybe it does homework for you , we will see!

I am on a budget so I will try to get used books and used calculator (?!). If  I succeed, I will let you know.

These books come with a Lyryx and one comes with Mybuscommlab. I don’t exactly know what these are, but it seems to be some kind of web portal for exercises. If you buy used books on Amazon or Kijiji or from other sources, you purchase Lyryx separately. I will post more details later. Unfortunately, college book store is closed for Winter holidays now :3

So here is the Business Information Technology schedule for Winter 2015 term rotated by 90 degrees.

If you rotate your head too, you can see that lessons are on Monday from 8:00 to 16:00, from Tuesday to Thursday from 9:00 to 17:00, and on Friday from 10:00 to 14:00. There are gaps between some lessons and Programming is for 2 hours :3
